Saratoga Fillies Women’s Rugby

Who are the Fillies?

The Saratoga Fillies are a women’s rugby team in Saratoga Springs New York. We were established in April 2024 after Coach Babson rallied former Saratoga Brumbies and former Saratoga Mustangs to play women’s rugby in Saratoga Springs again.

The Saratoga Brumbies were the predecessors to the Saratoga Fillies. The Saratoga Mustangs are still active in Saratoga County and are open to new youth members joining!

After recruiting and establishing a full team this past summer & fall, the Fillies will be playing fifteens scrimmages this spring of 2025, sevens in the summer of 2025 and aspire to join the NERFU league next fall of 2025.

Rugby is a physically demanding sport, but as soon as the final whistle blows on the pitch, the teams come together for a social afterwards to enjoy some food, drinks and yard games. The culture is unmatched.

The Saratoga Fillies are a social club that prioritizes fun on and off the field. On top of playing rugby together, we also enjoy volunteering, and putting on team bonding events, such as game nights, an annual scavenger hunt and holiday party.

Women aged 18 & older

All women aged 18 & up are welcome to play for the Fillies!

No experience necessary

You don’t have to have prior rugby experience to join. We will teach you all the fundamentals to ensure you feel safe and comfortable when you boot up for your first game.

All Athletic Abilities Welcome

You don’t have to have an athletic background to join. We have members who have never played a competitive sport in their life, while others joined rugby after growing up playing multiple sports.
